Bio

I'm Natalie — an architecture student in my fifth year at the Rhode Island School of Design. I'm drawn to small, quiet buildings: chapels, reading rooms, single houses on long contours.

My work tends to start with a material — a cast of concrete, a length of oiled cedar, the way late light falls across plaster — and grows outward into a room, a threshold, a frame. I draw by hand before I draw on screen.

Outside the studio I make ceramics, take 35mm photographs, and keep a long-running watercolor sketchbook.
